Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk, also known as Durk Banks, was acquitted of all charges related to a murder-for-hire plot in a high-profile trial in Los Angeles. The charges stemmed from an ambush shooting near the Beverly Center in August 2022, which resulted in the death of Tyquian Bowman’s cousin, not Bowman himself. Prosecutors accused Lil Durk of orchestrating the attack against Bowman, an Atlanta rapper known as Quando Rondo, claiming he planned and financed the hit.
During the three-day trial, Durk’s defense team maintained his innocence, arguing he had no involvement in the alleged conspiracy. The jury reached its verdict after three days of deliberation, leading to a not guilty ruling for Durk and his two co-defendants. If convicted, Durk could have faced a potential life sentence in federal prison.
