After more than a decade of viral fails and celebrity laughs, MTV has officially pulled the plug on Ridiculousness!
TMZ reports that the network told the cast and crew this week that the current season will be the show’s last, marking the end of one of MTV’s longest-running hits. The series went dark back in July and was expected to return in January, but instead, the network will air previously recorded episodes through 2026.
While no new episodes are being made, fans can still catch Ridiculousness reruns on MTV and stream select seasons on Paramount+.
Hosted by Rob Dyrdek alongside Steelo Brim and Lauren “Lolo” Wood, the show became a pop culture staple after premiering in 2011. The clip show, known for showcasing viral internet fails and celebrity guest reactions, ran for over 30 seasons and produced more than 900 episodes. Chanel West Coast, who co-hosted for 12 years, left the show in 2023 after 30 seasons.
MTV says the cancellation comes as part of a bigger rebrand, following the Paramount-Skydance merger and company-wide layoffs. The network plans to explore new creative voices and fresh programming, closing the book on a chapter that defined MTV for a generation of viewers.
Absolutely the end of an era!
