It’s the end of an era that I didn’t even realize still existed! After 25 years, Netflix is officially ending their DVD by mail service. In a statement on their website, they said, “Our goal has always been to provide the best service for our members, but as the DVD business continues to shrink, that’s going to become increasingly difficult.” Fair enough, considering I didn’t even know getting their DVDs by mail were still an option.
To go out with a bang, they’re offering legacy clients the chance to get ten extra discs in their last shipment (customers must sign up to be eligible for the promotion.) Netflix will send out their final red envelopes on September 29th and they will accept returns until October 27th. You can find more details here!
