Baz Luhrmann is creating an upcoming Elvis biopic, which has already reportedly cast Tom Hanks to play Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker, so we know it will be good. Is there even a bad Tom Hanks movie? But now the question is, who will play The King of Rock and Roll?
G-Eazy is certainly hoping it will be him. The rapper is advocating for himself to play the lead role in this new biopic. He was not named among the top five actors (Miles Teller, Harry Styles, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ansel Elgort, and Austin Butler) who have tested for the part.
But, the rapper has allegedly met with Warner Bros. executives and Luhrmann to discuss getting his name on that list of actors. He does not have a huge acting resume, but he has taken inspiration from The King. Check out some of the examples below:

On this post, he captioned lyrics from Elvis’ song Don’t Be Cruel to go along with his slicked-back hair and an outfit that looks like it could be from the 50s.
In his music video with ex-gf Halsey for their song Him & I, the two can be compared to the power couple Elvis and Priscilla because of the vibes from her dark hair and his leather jacket. A modern love story, that unfortunately came to a close.

In 2017, the rapper posted a photo of his merch line with a white shirt that says Love Me Tender, which can be assumed that it was inspired from the famous Elvis song of the same name.

Can you deny that his style just screams Elvis? Based on these posts and how G-Eazy presents himself, he may just be the perfect fit. We will just have to wait and see if his efforts will get him the role!
