In commemoration of what would have been Juice WRLD’s 25th birthday, and a week after the fourth anniversary of his passing, the rapper’s estate has unveiled a new track, “Lace It,” featuring Eminem. Produced by Benny Blanco, the song delves into the dangers of addiction, with Eminem, a survivor of his own struggles with drugs, cautioning against its perils.
In his verse, Eminem pays tribute to musical peers who fell victim to addiction, such as Lil Peep, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Shock G, Pimp C, Prince, and Michael Jackson. The lyrics also acknowledge the close call Eminem had with synthetic heroin, expressing gratitude for narrowly escaping its clutches.
“Lace It” marks the second posthumous collaboration between Juice WRLD and Eminem, following their earlier work on “Godzilla.” The song serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing battle with substance abuse in the music industry and pays homage to Juice WRLD’s enduring legacy.
