A pair of Nike Air Jordan 1 High shoes have sold for a record $615,000 at auction. Michael Jordan wore the pair during an exhibition game played in Trieste, Italy, in the summer of 1985. “It is the top price achieved for sneakers at auction,” a spokesperson at Christie’s said. The shoes were special because they contained a shard of glass from the game. Jordan had shattered the backboard during the exhibition.
