We finally have the conclusion to this case, even if it’s not the result many people were hoping for. A$AP Rocky has been found guilty by judges in Sweden in his assault case. The good news? He will not have to go to prison.
The four judges in the case issued their ruling today, finding the rapper guilty of assaulting a man during a street fight in Stockholm. They said that Rocky and his two friends who were also in trial “were not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defense.”
Judges were trying to figure out if the rapper threw a bottle at the victim during the brawl that was caught on film in late June. Prosecutors argued that he threw the bottle and badly cut the guy, but there were no witnesses or proof that the bottle was thrown. Rocky did say he was holding a bottle for protection but put it down and did not make contact with the victim.
Since there was no proof, the judges said the crime did not warrant any further time served and added that Rocky will not have to do community service. However, he will need to pay restitution to the victim, and also cover Sweden’s court expenses. There is no word on how much that will be.
Not exactly the news that we had hoped for, but at least he will not have to return to Sweden to do more time in jail.
