On select streaming services Thursday night, Beyoncé dropped what appeared to be a new double album featuring 21 unreleased tracks under the titles Have Your Way and Back Up, Rewind. Released under the alias Queen Carter, they were removed from streaming services after just a few hours.
However, as the AP reports, this was not a surprise album drop, but rather just a bunch of demos, previously released songs and unreleased tracks. Fans had good reason to believe Bey had given them an early Christmas present, though, as her last three albums have been surprise drops.
