We never thought we would see the day! After a record-breaking 19 weeks, Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road is no longer No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, dropping down to No.3. After spending weeks at No. 2, Billie Eilish’s bad guy has finally risen to the top!
This day had to come eventually, but it would have been cool to see him make it one more week to make it a 20 week record. Lil Nas X doesn’t have any hard feelings though, he even tweeted her after the news came out:
congratulations to billie eilish!! u deserve this!!

He also made a couple other tweets about the news:

Eilish has set quite a few records herself. Her song bad guy is the first song to hit No. 1 after spending nine weeks at No. 2. The song also marks the first time that a song that was formerly No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart has gone on to top the Hot 100 since Lorde’s Royals in 2013. She is also the first artist born in the 2000s to have a No.1 hit on the Hot 100. At 17, she is also the youngest artist to rule the chart since Lorde, who was 16 when Royals hit No.1.
In June, the two met up and Lil Nas X posted this photo:

Congrats to Billie Eilish on this great achievement! Now, we will be expecting a “bad guy road” remix from the two in the very near future.
