In his first interview since his last prison stint, DMX tells GQ that he’s re-signed to Def Jam Records and is working on new music. “Yeah, it’s good to be back home…It’s going to be great,” the 48-year-old rapper says about returning to the label to put out his next album. X also opens up in the wide-ranging Q&A about performing at Kanye West’s Sunday Service after getting out from behind bars. “I wouldn’t call it a church service. There’s no word,” he says. “It’s joyful, which God says to do…I enjoyed it. It was moving. I didn’t know what to expect, though.”
On August 30th DMX was heading to Nashville to start the recording of his new Def Jam project. He instead ended up pulling his luggage from the flight and swapping his tickets for a trip to Portland, ME where he filled in last minute and headlined our biggest summer show to date, Hot Summer 2019!
