DMX real name Earl Simmons, has passed away at just 50 years old after spending the past week in a coma after a heart attack in his New York home. His family released a statement Friday morning that reads, “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.” Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
1. We were so fortunate to have DMX at Hot Summer '19. Wiz broke his foot & couldn't perform. At the last minute X filled in. By coincidence, he was at the airport in NY flying to Nashville. He pulled his bags off the plane, bought a flight to Portland and was at PTs 3hrs later.

2. He spent the following day around Portland and then went on stage in Westbrook & killed it! He THEN stayed after the show, met with the stage hands and helped take the stage down and clean up.

3. He spent the rest of the weekend in southern Maine. He played pool, went shopping and went viral when he helped buy school clothes for an Ellsworth, Maine family. https://t.co/KWMW0X91PM
