JAY-Z denies he and Beyoncé were trying to make a political statement by sitting during the national anthem at Sunday’s Super Bowl. JAY-Z says they were watching Demi Lovato and jumped into “artist mode,” wondering if the sound was right. He also said he doesn’t need to stage any silent protests at the Super Bowl, since he’s working with the NFL to get diverse acts like J-Lo and Shakira involved with the league.
