New York state is officially green. The Empire state has legalized recreational marijuana use. The state legislature passed the bill on Tuesday, and Cuomo signed the bill on Wednesday. New Yorkers will be able to possess three ounces of marijuana and grow three mature cannabis plants. Anyone in the state who was convicted for possessing less than the new allowed amount will be automatically eligible to have their record expunged. The legalization is estimated to create 60,000 jobs and bring $350 million in annual tax revenue.
