The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirmed that four categories will be awarded during the commercial breaks of the Oscars telecast on February 24.
Following news that the event will be “host-less” this year after Kevin Hart dipping out, the Academy revealed the Live Action Short, Film Editing and Make-up and Hairstyling categories won’t be shown on-air. However, they also confirmed they will be live streaming during those commercial breaks so the viewing audience can watch live online along with those in attendance. The winning speeches for each category will also air later in the broadcast.
The 91st Academy Awards will air at 5 p.m. PT from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
