At just 26-years-old, rapper Russ has found himself in and out of beef within the hip-hop community. Just two years ago, the rapper originally from New Jersey, went on a twitter rant calling out many artists. Russ called out Lil Pump, Wifisfuneral and Smokepurpp for speaking against his anti-drug stance, which spiraled into a deeper conversation about the culture of hip-hip. On June 30, 2019, Russ sat down with Joe Budden on “Pull Up” to speak on these issues more in depth. Prior to speaking with Budden on his show, Russ took to Twitter to better explain how Whites need to do better within the hip-hop community. Below are the series of tweets and the interview with Budden:
The industry, owned and ran by white people, uses young naive financially desperate black kids to perpetuate negative black stereotypes that in turn hold back & further destroy the black community. Black kids are being used as weapons of mass destruction against their own people

On music business pitfalls to avoid/other things that I’ve learned that I feel could benefit anybody who’s tryna navigate this industry. I know a lotta time the “how” is harsh, but I want everyone to win on their terms and not get swindled and I hope y’all get that 🙏🏼
