Most of our weekends were relaxing and did not include online feuds. But, the same can’t be said for Scooter Braun, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber. Scooter Braun, who manages artists such as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Zac Brown Band, this past weekend, announced that he acquired Big Machine Label Group.
The deal is worth an estimated $300 million and he will be partners with Scott Borchetta. With this deal, he will get the entire six-album catalog from Taylor Swift’s 2006 debut album through 2017’s Reputation album. Swift moved over to Universal Music Group, which now prevents her from owning her first albums and any of her videos.
In response to the news, Swift posted to her Tumblr blog:
To sum up her post, she said that she learned about the purchase by Scooter Braun with the rest of the world and claims that “Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.” She also claims that Braun has bullied her over the years.
Many people have come to the defense of Braun, including his team, his wife Yael, and Justin Bieber, claiming that Braun has nothing but supported Taylor and that she is the real bully in this situation. Here are Bieber and Yael’s defense posts:

Taylor Swift is certainly no stranger to having feuds with people and being called a bully. But realistically, we do not know all the background to this situation and what kind of manager and person Scooter Braun is. Seems like we will just have to sit and watch how this all plays out.
