Everything was set up perfectly for The Weeknd to kick off his After Hours Til Dawn Tour. The first date was set to take place in his hometown of Toronto. Then, technology went and screwed things up. The Weeknd’s Friday show at Rogers Centre was postponed because of a Rogers Wireless network outage. All ticketing, merchandise sales, food sales, security protocols, and even some of The Weeknd’s production were tied to an operating wireless network, so the show had to be scrapped. The Weeknd wrote about the cancellation on Instagram saying, “I’m crushed & heartbroken. Been at the venue all day but it’s out of our hands because of the Rogers outrage. Operations and safety are compromised and I tried my absolute best. This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight.”
