The events that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia during the month of August, as white nationalists marched the streets, sent a shock-wave throughout the country. Many people spoke up, shut down, and even showed up in counter protest to help thwart the efforts of the white nationalists. Unfortunately, during the protests, the death of a 32 year old woman by the name of Heather Heyer occurred when a speeding car rammed into a crowd of the counter protesters.
In response to these events, Charlottesvile natives Dave Matthews Band will be hosting “A Concert for Charlottesville.” Accompanying them will be mega stars Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, and more. Tickets to the event, which will be allocated to residents of the Charlottesville area first, are free of charge. Attendees are encouraged to donate to the Concert for Charlottesville Fund, which will be distributed to victims, first responders, and organizations across the U.S. that promote justice, unity, equality, and healing.
You can learn more about the concert via the Concert for Charlottesville website.
