(Recap) 2020 Oscars Winners

Parasite made history at Sunday’s Oscars, becoming the first non-English language film to win Best Picture. The movie also took home the Best International Film, Best Original Screenplay and Best Director awards. Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor for Joker while Renee Zellweger took home Best Actress for Judy. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt won Best Supporting Actor for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Laura Dern won Best Supporting Actress for Marriage Story. Toy Story 4 won Best Animated Feature and Elton John’s “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again,” from his Rocketman biopic, won Best Original Song.
Joaquin Phoenix used his speech to discuss inequality.. “We’re talking about the fight against the belief that one nation, one people, one race, one gender or one species has the right to dominate, control and use and exploit another with impunity.”
