Daniel Kaluuya won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in “Judas and the Black Messiah.” As he paid tribute to the man he portrayed, Fred Hampton, thanked co-stars, industry people, and others, Daniel turned his attention to his family. With his mother and sister watching from London, Kaluuya said, “My mom met my dad, they had sex, I’m here. It’s amazing. I’m so happy to be alive. I’m gonna celebrate that tonight.” Mom and sister’s reactions were priceless. His sister put her head in her hands while his mom looked dumbfounded. Backstage, Kaluuya pondered what he said, and he responded, “It just came out of my mouth. My mom is probably going to text me. I am trying to avoid my phone for a bit.”
