Wells, ME – Hot Radio Maine held their 9th annual Thanksgiving turkey give-away. This year’s turkey give-away consisted of over 100 free turkeys. The annual give-away was one of Hot Radio Maine’s first ever community events and nine years later has become a staple of the holiday season. The station has now given away nearly 1,500 turkeys to Maine listeners. This year, the turkey give-away was once again in conjunction with Maine Credit Unions and returned to the Wells IGA located at 1517 Post Road in Wells, Maine. The turkey give-away began at 3pm on Tuesday, November 23rd and turkeys were handed out on a first come, first basis until all of the turkeys were gone.
As in previous years, there was no cost, no catch and no strings attached to receive a free turkey for Thanksgiving. The only thing the public needed to do to receive a free turkey was to show up at the Wells IGA at 3pm and turkeys were given away until they were gone. The Hot Radio Maine staff was on site handing out turkeys and all necessary COVID-19 precautions were followed. Hot Radio Maine’s Program Director and Morning Host, Ryan Deelon announced the give-away on air saying, “This is something that our team is incredibly proud to be able to do for a 9th year in a row. The support the community shows us is amazing and we’re happy to be able to give back to those who could use some help this Thanksgiving.”
