1. Nine Mainers are facing charges after an anti-ICE protest in Massachusetts. Police say roughly forty demonstrators blocked the administrative entrance to the Burlington ICE facility Tuesday, and twelve who refused to move — including nine from Maine — were arrested on trespassing and disturbing the peace charges. The protest centered on detainees taken there during January’s Operation Catch of the Day. (WGME)
2. A scary crash shut down part of Route 302 in Windham Wednesday. Police say one pickup ran a red light at Roosevelt Trail and Albion Road, slammed into another truck, then crashed straight into a business building. 3. Big change in South Portland schools is getting pushed back. The school board voted to delay its elementary school reconfiguration plan by one full year, saying families and staff need more time to prepare. South Portland Board of Education says Kaler Elementary will still close this year, but the grade reshuffling at the other schools now won’t begin until the twenty twenty-seven school year. (WMTW)
