1. Bomb squad robots were used to detonate a suspicious backpack in Portland on Monday morning. The backpack was left near a utility pole on Washington Ave. A technician in a bomb suit was later able to inspect the contents and deem it not to be a threat. (WGME)
2. Kayla Rench, the mother of the child hit by wire at the monster truck show in Topsham, told WMTW he is ok. According to Topsham police, several people were treated for minor injuries on scene and two people were taken to hospitals. (WMTW)
