1. Today is Primary Election Day in Maine. Polls are open across the state, with voters casting ballots in races for U.S. Senate, governor, Congress, the Legislature and local offices. If you’re not registered, Maine allows same-day voter registration at the polls, and all voting locations close at 8 p.m. tonight. (WMTW)
2. The fund supporting workers and families impacted by the Robbins Lumber explosion in Searsmont has now topped a half-million dollars. The Maine Strong Memorial Foundation says more than $570,000 has been committed since the campaign launched in May, with all funds going directly to those affected by the fire and explosion. Organizers have extended the fundraising effort through June 14. (WMTW)
3. Cape Elizabeth Middle School is investigating after students created a Minecraft server that included racist, antisemitic, homophobic and sexually explicit content. School officials say several eighth graders were involved, and while administrators have identified who created and managed the server, they’re still working to determine who posted specific messages. The district says it is tightening technology oversight and will address the incident with students before the school year ends. (PH)
4. Portland’s newly renovated Rising Eddy Community Pool is expected to open in late June or early July. The former Kiwanis Pool has been upgraded with room for 400 swimmers—four times its previous capacity—and features new water slides, splash areas, lap lanes, improved locker rooms and expanded family-friendly amenities. The $12 million project is on schedule and aims to ease demand for public swimming options in the city this summer. (PH)
