1. Two storms are expected this week. The first hits today with mostly rain between the hours of 10AM and 6PM. Slippery travel is expected. Wednesday travel should be clear. The second storm starts on Thanksgiving with rain along the coast and up to 6″ of snow inland. (WGME)
2. A couple Yarmouth High School students fainted yesterday and tested positive for low levels of carbon monoxide. The school was evacuated, firefighters took air samples, and the superintendent says everything came back clean. The students were let back in an hour and a half later. More kids reported feeling sick, so the school sent them all home for the day. No explanation was determined and school is back on for the students today. (WGME)
3. Starting next fall, high-achieving students from low-income families will be able to attend the University of New England tuition-free. Applicants with a high school GPA of at least 3.85 and a family income of less than $100,000 will qualify for free tuition. (PH)
4. Nosh Taco closed just short of a year after it launched in the former Copper Branch vegan restaurant space in Portland. Co-owner Michael Fraser said rent for the space was steep, adding that limited downtown foot traffic – an issue for many businesses since the pandemic – was another factor behind the closure. (PH)
