1. A Westbrook man will spend three years behind bars after threatening to detonate a car bomb during a bank robbery in South Portland. A judge sentenced 41-year-old Jason Arsenault on Wednesday. Arsenault pulled up to the drive through window of the Key Bank on Gorham Road in South Portland on January 26 he sent a note to the teller using the pneumatic tube that read, “CAR BOMB No Cops Alarms or WE ALL DIE $50,000 in 20’s.” (WGME)
2. The Congressional race in Maine’s Second District will go to ranked choice voting. As of Thursday night, incumbent Democratic Congressman Jared Golden holds a slight lead over Republican challenger Austin Theriault. Theriault also requested a recount in the race on Thursday afternoon. (WGME)
