The FBI and Portland Police have increased the reward to 25-thousand dollars for information on Miguel Oliveras, a Boston man who disappeared after being seen at a Riverside Street club back in 2006. Investigators say they’ve received no solid leads and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
2. Heating oil prices in Maine have climbed to their highest levels in years, now averaging about $5.40 a gallon statewide. State officials call the spike historic, blaming global conflict and market volatility, while heating assistance programs remain available for qualifying Mainers.
3. A West Bath woman is facing arson and animal cruelty charges after investigators say she set fire to a goat farm barn on her own property. Officials say no animals were hurt. The 38-year-old was arrested and taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
4. An island in Casco Bay is losing its only general store. Doughty’s Island Market on Chebeague Island is closing March 31 after more than 60 years, as the family says it’s time to step away from running what many called the heart of the community.
5. Netflix raised prices for all its subscription plans, effective yesterday, with increases ranging from $1 to $2 per month. The price for the ad-supported standard plan will increase to $8.99, while the standard ad-free plan will cost $19.99, and the premium plan will rise to $26.99. (Verge)
