1. More than 1,200 miles away from Orlando, Florida, hundreds gathered at the steps of Portland City Hall Monday night to pay tribute to those lost in the Orlando nightclub shooting. EqualityMaine and Pride Portland collaborated to host the event. Elsewhere in the state, as many as six other vigils were held Monday night. At least three more are scheduled for Tuesday in Belfast, Rockland and Waterville. (WCSH)
2. Voters in Maine head to the polls today. Up for votes: school budgets, new traffic patterns and a new elementary school, and several hot button issues. Freeport voters are taking up whether to ban plastic bags from stores in the Freeport town limits. Wiscasset voters will decide on traffic patterns and options that could lay the groundwork for how throngs of tourists will get there. (WCSH)
3. Scarborough police are seeking a man who was last seen early Saturday morning in Portland’s Old Port. Matthew Foster, 23, of Scarborough, was last seen at 1 a.m. Saturday in the Old Port, and may have gone to the waterfront. Foster is diabetic, and was carrying only a day’s worth of medication with him. He was not carrying his cell phone. Anyone with information about Foster’s whereabouts is asked to call the Scarborough Police Department at 207-883-6361. (PH)
4. The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors 112-97 in Game 5 last night, forcing a Game 6 in Cleveland this Thursday. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving made history by becoming the first teammates to each top 40 points in the same NBA Finals game with 41 points apiece. (ABC)
