1. Protests went into a second night Monday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, over the police shooting of unarmed Black man Jacob Blake. The 29-year-old Blake had been trying to enter his car with his three sons inside when he was shot multiple times this past Sunday. Blake remains in serious condition. (AP)
2. The RNC kicked off Monday. Former reality TV show host Donald Trump is not scheduled to make his keynote address until Thursday, but did make some remarks throughout the day. “The only way they can take this election away from us is if this is a rigged election,” Trump told delegates, repeating his unsubstantiated claims about mail-in voting. 3. The U.S. tops 5.7 million coronavirus cases with over 177,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 21 new cases on Monday. Maine’s death toll is 131 w/ 463 active cases. (WMTW)

Based on such factors as the gap between female and male executives and the disparity in unemployment rates for women and men. Hawaii ranked 1st while Maine had a strong showing at #2. 5. On Monday, KFC suspended use of its signature catchphrase, “finger-lickin’ good.” The 64-year-old saying just “doesn’t quite feel right,” says the company. The retailer says that the slogan will make a return whenever the “time is right.” (CNN)
