1. The U.S. tops 7.8 million Coronavirus cases w/ over 215,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 28 additional cases on Tuesday. The statewide death toll remains 143 w/ 631 active cases. The Maine Department of Education has launched an online dashboard providing a breakdown of the number of COVID-19 cases reported at pre-K through grade 12 schools in the state in the last 30 days. 2. Bates College says students were sent home for fully remote learning for offenses such as gathering in residence halls, lack of social distancing on campus and missing mandatory COVID tests. The Vice President for Campus Life emphasizes Bates is serious about their COVID regulations, and so far, have had no positive tests among students since March. (WGME)

3. Police are now saying that Nicholas Mitchell may have been putting razor blades or otherwise tampering with pizza dough products as far back as August. In August, two women returned dough to the Hannaford store in Sanford after finding razor blades in the dough. Hannaford, and now Shaw’s, stores are recalling that pizza dough. (WGME)

4. Maine residents spent more than $250,000 on marijuana over the course of the first weekend of legal retail sales of the drug in the state. The long weekend generated more than 6,400 transactions and $25,000 in sales tax. (WGME)

5. Early voting records in the U.S. have already been shattered as data shows more than 10 million people have already voted in the 2020 General Election. Mainers account for more than 133,000 of those votes, according to data from the Maine Secretary of State’s Office. (NEWS CENTER)
