1. On Monday, President Biden announced the U.S. had killed Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al Qaeda. Biden said Zawahiri was “deeply involved in the planning of 9/11”
2. A second case of monkeypox has been reported in Maine. The individual is a man from Penobscot County. The first case was reported on July 22 and involved a man from York County.
3. A teenager from Livermore Falls, who was last seen Saturday night has been found and is safe. Asia Brown, who has high-functioning autism and requires medication, was located in a wooded area near a field, just over a mile from her home, by a Maine Search and Rescue Dog.
4. Another shark was spotted swimming off Popham Beach State Park Sunday night forcing park officials to close the beach for swimming. Officials said the beach will reopen today.
