1. Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old member of the Mass Air National Guard, was arrested by the FBI for allegedly leaking classified US intelligence on a Discord server (Thug Shaker Central). He was charged under the Espionage Act and taken into custody at his home in North Dighton, Mass, where aerial footage showed FBI agents arriving in armored cars. The leaks were reportedly shared from the private group chat to public pages. (JN)
2. Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App, was fatally stabbed on a street in San Fran on April 4. Nima Momeni, a fellow tech worker, has been arrested and booked on suspicion of murder. The motive for the killing remains unclear. (NYP)
3. Kyle Hendrickson, 25, was arrested in Portland for threatening to “shoot up” Portsmouth High School, which prompted the closure of all Portsmouth schools yesterday. Authorities found weapons in his possession. Hendrickson is being held as a fugitive until he can be sent back to NH to face charges. (WGME)
4. Maine Public has suspended its Twitter activity after the social media platform labeled NPR and PBS as “government-funded media.” Maine Public CEO Rick Schneider said the labels of “government-funded media” and “state-affiliated media” were false and strike at the foundation of public media. Schneider said the majority of Maine Public’s funding comes from “individual donors, foundations and corporate support from Maine businesses.” (NCM)
