3. Alcohol to go is here to stay. Gov. Mills signed the new law on Monday and it takes effect immediately. Drinks must be sold in sealed containers that include the seller’s liquor license number and the time of the order and they must be accompanied by a food order. (PH)
4. Brownie scout Liliana from Ellsworth sold more than 2,222 boxes of cookies, setting a new Maine record. The goal was set because Liliana’s favorite number is two. Liliana hopes to attend the 2023 Girl Scout Convention at Walt Disney World. (WGME)
5. The first Barbie doll representing a person with Down syndrome was released by Mattel “to allow even more children to see themselves in Barbie,” the company said. Barbie worked with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to design the doll to represent a person with Down syndrome accurately. NDSS President and CEO Kandi Pickard said in a statement. “This Barbie serves as a reminder that we should never underestimate the power of representation.” (AP)
