1. Kyle Fitzsimons, the most seriously charged and convicted January 6th Capitol rioter from Maine, has been sentenced to seven years and three months in federal prison. Fitzsimons has already served two years and five months, so he could be freed in less than five years. Prosecutors wanted 15 and a half years. (WMTW)
2. The Secret Service has ended its investigation into the bag of cocaine found in the White House without identifying a suspect. The leading theory is that a visitor to the White House left the drugs in the West Wing during a tour. (JN)
3. Gooch’s Beach and Mother’s Beach in Kennebunk and Ocean Park in OOB were flying orange flags on Thursday afternoon, warning visitors of high contamination levels. High levels of bacteria found in the water can be heightened by high levels of rainfall and an increased level of fecal matter. (PH)
4. Make-A-Wish Maine surprised 12 year-old Isaac Cote of Hartford yesterday at the Portland Jetport with a trip to LegoLand. Legos helped Isaac get through long hospital stays and treatments for a brain tumor. This is the 1,800 wish granted for kids in Maine. (WGME)

Abbie Anderson, a recent grad of UNE, won $10,000 for development of her new app, “Clyk.” It’s designed to focus less on likes and scrolling and more on connecting students with similar interests and hobbies. Anderson says she got the idea to develop the app after feeling lonely in college during the pandemic. (WGME)
