1. The number of confirmed deaths in Maui has grown to 96 after wildfires devastated the Hawaii island. Fires in Lahaina are now 85% contained with no active threats. An estimated value of $5.6 billion in property was lost. (WGME)
2. Portland has revealed its plan to house the nearly 200 asylum seekers that will be forced to vacate the Portland Expo. They will be moved into two hotels Wednesday. Neither hotel is in Portland or South Portland, but both have the same owner. (The city declined to name the hotels until the month-to-month contract is signed). (WMTW)
3. A South Portland woman is being accused of stealing a half a million dollars from the dentist / former friend who employed her. Theresa York was allegedly drafting checks for her boss to sign under the guise of paying the business’s taxes, only to deposit them into her own accounts. York was also forging financial records at the office, and shredding notices from the IRS. (PH)
4. At least one person has been hurt after lighting strikes in northern Maine on Sunday. The National Weather Service reports one or more people suffered injuries in the town of Newburgh, just west of Bangor on Sunday around 3:30 a.m. (WGME)
