If you’ve ever been to a Boston Celtics game at TD Garden, you know they have a special promotion where they’ll bring members of the community out to center court to be honored and recognized for courageous and noble acts. They call them “Heroes Among Us,” and one thing is for certain, Tim Giberti of Auburn, ME, is as heroic as it gets.
Tom was at the bowling alley in Lewiston on the night of the mass shooting, and as the chaos started, he had the wherewithal to rally a group of children and escort them to the exit. This nearly came at the cost of his life, as Tom was shot 7 times as he shielded the children, all of whom escaped physically unscathed. After numerous surgeries and a lengthy hospital stay, Tom is back on his feet and on the road to recovery. Rightfully so, he is and should continue to be recognized for one of the most noble acts of heroics imaginable. #LewistonStrong
