1. Portland police have responded to two incidents this week in which strangers tried to lure school-aged children into their vehicles. Police recommend that students walk with multiple friends if possible, run and yell “Help” loudly if they are approached by someone on foot, and turn around and walk in the other direction if followed by a stranger in a car. 2. Bailey Zappe threw three first-half touchdown passes, and the New England Patriots snapped a five-game skid while damaging the playoff hopes of the Pittsburgh Steelers with a 21-18 victory on Thursday night. (PH)
3. The Pantone Color Institute has a peachy outlook for 2024. Pantone has picked Peach Fuzz as its Color of the Year. The hue is described as “a light, fruity tone that conjures peace and serenity.” Pantone said, “We’re going through a lot of turmoil in our lives, and we have a need for a color that’s nurturing.” (CNN)
4. Subway, known for its foot-long subs, just announced last week that they’ll also have foot-long cookies on their menu in 2024. Now, the sub chain has announced it’s adding even more foot-long items, like a foot-long Cinnabon Churro and Auntie Anne’s Pretzel. The prices for these new foot-long desserts will range anywhere from $2 to $5. (FB)
