1. Northern Light Health is assuring Mainers that their confidential patient information is safe after some of the health care system’s computer servers were hacked over the weekend. Northern Light Health medical centers remained open over the weekend as they made repairs to their breached servers. The hospital system’s patient records were back online early Monday morning. Northern Light did not share what information or data was on the comprised servers. (WGME)
2. Gov. Janet Mills is urging Mainers and businesses impacted by the December 17-21 storm and flooding to apply for financial assistance and low-interest disaster loans to help them recover from the extreme weather event. In the coming days, FEMA and the state are expected to announce the opening of several Disaster Recovery Centers where impacted people can learn about disaster assistance programs, apply for disaster assistance, check the status of FEMA applications, understand FEMA notices or letter, meet with Small Business Administration agents, and get referrals to other agencies, among other services. 3. With nearly 100 unpaid parking tickets from 2023, Old Town police are allowing locals to pay their outstanding parking tickets with a $10 pasta donation. For the entire month of February, the police department is accepting pasta donations to help benefit the local school district and surrounding food pantries. If you are one of those ticket holders you can drop off your $10 pasta donation at the Old Town Police Department for a clean slate. (NCM)
4. Puppy Bowl 2024 will also air on Super Bowl Sunday! The adorable event, which is now in its 20th year, promises to be the “puppiest” Puppy Bowl ever. This heartwarming annual “competition” is held every Super Bowl Sunday to raise awareness about the importance of animal adoption. The 2024 Puppy Bowl will air on Sunday, Feb 11, and will air on Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, TBS, and TruTV starting at 2 p.m. (P)
