1. The Biden Administration has announced another $1.2 billion in student loans will be forgiven for around 153,000. This round of forgiveness is for those enrolled in the SAVE program; those who borrowed $12,000 or less who have been repaying the money for at least 10 years. (NYP)
2. Forty-seven lawmakers have signed on to two letters calling on Cabela’s and Kittery Trading Post to stop selling military-style, semi-automatic weapons, commonly referred to as assault rifles. LL Bean, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Walmart no longer sell the weapons referenced in the letters. (PH)
3. Rangeley will be celebrating International Dark Sky Week and host a Shadow of the Sun Festival to celebrate the total solar eclipse April 2 through April 8. On April 8, the moon will cast its shadow across a stretch of the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, plunging millions of people into midday darkness. (WGME)
4. Dunkin’ unveiled its spring menu on Wednesday, and it includes new caffeinated energy drinks. Dunkin’s Sparkd’ Energy drink comes in Berry Burst and Peach Sunshine flavors. A large Sparkd’ Energy has 192 milligrams of caffeine. In comparison, Panera’s website says their Charged Lemonade energy drinks contain 236 mg of caffeine, though lawsuits filed against the company say they have as much as 390 mg. (Fox)
