1. It’s been two years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Demonstrators in Portland took part in a nationwide Day of Action organized by the Maine Women’s March. Protesters packed Monument Square to mark the historic vote. (WGME)
2. Harpswell officials say the carcass of a dead whale has been found floating in the water near Cribstone Bridge, which connects Bailey and Orrs islands. Officials are investigating. It’s not clear yet how the whale died or the species of whale it is. (WGME)
3. Bangor city councilors on Monday approved adding a line to the city’s loitering ordinance that outlaws standing around, either alone or with others, on road medians less than 6 feet wide on in “high-volume or high-speed traffic areas.” (WGME)
4. CNN Travel has put together its list of the top ten towns to visit in 2024. The towns picked ranged between 50,000 residents to about 225,000. CNN looked at restaurants, bars, nightlife, ease of getting there, ample lodging, and a sense of identity as some of the criteria. Richmond, Virginia, wound up taking the top spot on the list. RVA scored highly with cultural attractions, dining and drinks, and intriguing neighborhoods. Portland, Maine was #4 (CNN)

5. The Florida Panthers won their first Stanley Cup Championship in franchise history on Monday night, winning an epic Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers. The Panthers led 3-0 in the series, but the Oilers fought back to tie the Cup Finals at three games a piece.
