1. Hurricane Milton brought powerful winds, a deadly storm surge and flooding to much of Florida after making landfall along the Gulf Coast as a Category 3 storm. Multiple fatalities have been reported. More than 3 million homes and businesses were without power in Florida Thursday morning. (WMTW)
2. Police are looking for a man after a stabbing outside a Family Dollar in Sanford. Police believe the stabbing was a result of an ongoing fight. Police say the suspect is described as having long hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a backward-facing hat, and a hooded sweatshirt. The suspect may also have an eye injury. (WGME)
3. Lisbon High is forfeiting its Friday home football game against Freeport in the wake of the ongoing investigation into alleged hazing by members of the Lisbon football program. The second forfeiture comes after parents and students were informed in a Monday letter that Lisbon schools hired a private agency to conduct its own investigation. (SJ)
4. The legendary Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas was imploded on Wednesday morning. The spectacle included a fireworks display and drones. The Trop was the third oldest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. It officially closed in April. The implosion clears the way for a potential baseball stadium for the former Oakland A’s if the relocation process stays on track. (AP)
5. Crocs announced it will release Pet Crocs, a version of the classic Crocs clog made for dogs. According to Crocs, the inspiration for Pet Crocs came from years of fan requests for dog shoes and the countless photos the brand has received of animals trying on human Crocs.
