1. Maine State Police and the FBI are now offering a $15,000 reward to find a missing 14-year-old girl from New Sweden, Maine. Stefanie Damron was last seen on September 23 walking into the woods behind her home. Investigators say they “don’t have any concrete leads.” (WGME)

4. A record number of travelers passed through TSA Security at U.S. airports on Sunday. TSA said they saw 3.09 million passengers on December 1st. The travel day had 74,000 more people than the previous top mark set on July 7th, 2024. (ET)

The Oxford University Press has picked “Brain rot” as its word of the year for 2024. “Brain rot” is defined as “the supposed deterioration of a person’s mental or intellectual state, especially viewed as the result of overconsumption of material (now particularly online content) considered to be trivial or unchallenging.” Although the term is over a century old, the usage rose by 230 percent this year. Today, “brain rot” has been termed as a condition by some medical experts. People with “brain rot” experience “mental fogginess, lethargy, reduced attention span, and cognitive decline.” (CNN)
