1. A 2-year-old boy in West Bath shot his parents. The mother was shot in the leg, the father had a minor injury to the back of his head and the boy was hit in the face by the recoil of the gun. The incident is reinforcing the Maine Gun Safety Coalition’s push to pass LD 759, which would make it a crime if someone leaves a loaded firearm around a child and they use it. (WGME)
2. The U.S. tops 32.8 million covid-19 cases with more than 583,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported 1 new death and 302 new cases on Wednesday bringing Maine’s death toll to 798 with 122 Mainers hospitalized. (WMTW)
3. According to data from the U.S. CDC, 70% of Maine adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Five other states—Vermont, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Connecticut, and New Hampshire—have reached this milestone. (NEWS CENTER)
