It doesn’t look like Old Town Road will be leaving our lives anytime soon. Lil Nas X’s hit song featuring Billy Ray Cyrus just claimed one of the most prized records in the Billboard Hot 100’s 60-year history as it spent its 17th week at No.1.
The hit song just beat out the previous record of 16 weeks held by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s One Sweet Day that took place between 1995-1996 and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito featuring Justin Bieber in 2017.
To help his song get to week 18, Lil Nas X released a new remix of the song with RM of BTS:
With the announcement, he took to Twitter to show his excitement and to shout out the haters in a series of Tweets:

Although Mariah Carey is probably sad that she has to pass the torch over, she took to social media to congratulate the rapper on his No.1 hit:
Sending love & congrats to @LilNasX on breaking one of the longest running records in music history! We've been blessed to hold this record with a song that means a great deal to @BoyzIIMen and myself and has touched so many. Keep living your best life! ❤ pic.twitter.com/3YorLCg3lx

Congrats to Lil Nas X on this major accomplishment and for proving all the haters wrong! With more releases of remixes, the song will definitely stay on the charts for at least a few more weeks.
