1. In a video posted to twitter yesterday evening Donald Trump condemned his violent supporters who stormed the nation’s Capitol Wednesday. Trump finally conceded to President-elect Joe Biden and promised a smooth transition. (WMTW)
2. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Maine Sen. Angus King, Rep. Chellie Pingree and more are calling on VP Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump from office.(NEWS CENTER) Facebook and Instagram have banned Donald Trump’s account from posting for at least the remainder of his term in office and perhaps “indefinitely,” Mark Zuckerberg announced in a post on Thursday.(CNN)

Craft vendors have pulled their items from Furniture, Mattresses, and more by the Bangor Mall after Kathy Harvey, the store’s owner, requested that someone print sweatshirts featuring the Proud Boys logo and the phrase “stand back, stand by.” The request was posted to 2,500 members of the Bangor Mall Craft Fair Facebook group — which she administers. Bangor Mall released a statement… “Kathy Harvey owns her building and operates independently of Bangor Mall.” Her views do not reflect those of our team.” (WGME)
4. The U.S. tops 21.5 million Covid-19 cases with over 365,000 deaths. The Maine CDC reported 13 new covid related deaths and 535 new cases on Thursday. Maine’s death toll is 385. 202 Mainers are currently hospitalized w/ covid-19. Over 42,000 Mainers have been vaccinated.(WMTW)
5. KFC is entering the chicken sandwich wars. The new Crispy Colonel sandwich will be available at all KFC restaurants on February 24th. Some locations will get it earlier. The sandwich features a quarter-pound double breaded chicken breast on a toasted brioche bun with a pickle and either mayo or spicy sauce. McDonald’s recently announced a new line of chicken sandwiches too. (CNBC)
