1. Hundreds gathered in Portland’s Monument Square Sunday evening, joining the thousands across the U.S. mourning the loss of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The 87-year-old was the senior member of the court’s liberal wing. As a justice, Ginsburg consistently voted in favor of abortion access and civil rights. Sen. Susan Collins said she believes the Senate should vote on a Supreme Court nominee after the November presidential election.

2. On Saturday night, Trump told rallygoers in North Carolina he wanted to fill the newly-empty Supreme Court seat with a woman. “It will be a woman,” he said. “A very talented, very brilliant woman. Who I haven’t chosen yet, but we have numerous women on the list,” Trump said.

3. The U.S. tops 6.8 million coronavirus cases with over 199,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 44 new cases on Sunday. Maine’s death toll is 139 w/ 576 active cases.

4. Sanford High School and Regional Technical Center will be holding classes virtually until further notice after three people associated with the schools tested positive for COVID-19.

5. The federal ban on TikTok has been delayed a week as a deal with Oracle and Walmart is worked out. TikTok will “pay more than $5 billion in new tax dollars to the U.S. Treasury.” The deal still needs to be approved by the Chinese parent company.
