4. Parents and student-athletes gathered for a “Let Them Play” rally in Augusta yesterday. Demonstrators are encouraging lawmakers to allow high school football this fall. Last week, officials with the MPA announced they would not sponsor tackle football or volleyball under COVID-19 guidelines.

5. The Big Ten college football conference has reversed its decision to postpone its season and will return to action starting October 24. The league is aiming for each team to play eight games in the eight weeks leading up to the December 19 conference championship. While games will be held on school campuses, fans are not expected to be allowed to attend.
