1. The U.S. tops 10.2 million Covid-19 cases with over 239,000 deaths. The Maine CDC reported 4 new deaths and 163 new cases on Tuesday. Maine’s death toll is 156 with 1,804 active cases. The Covid-19 reproduction rate in Maine is now the highest in the country. That’s the average number of people who become infected by an infectious person.

2. A minimum wage increase in Portland will not take effect next month as originally planned. The referendum was approved on Election Day. According to the referendum, during any emergency proclamation minimum wage workers will make 1.5 times their pay, but since this won’t go into effect until January 1, 2022, it will not impact this current state of emergency due to COVID-19.

3. Boston Celtics legend and basketball Hall of Famer Tommy Heinsohn has died, the team confirmed Tuesday. He was 86. Heinsohn’s legacy will forever be tied to the Celtics, where he played a part in all 17 of the franchise’s championships — from player to coach to color commentator.

4. New Maine guidelines now require masks to be worn at all times in restaurants, except when a person is eating or drinking. Previously, customers were allowed to remove masks while seated.

5. Veterans Day – Honoring our military and the sacrifices they make for us every day. We salute those who have served and those that are still protecting us.
