1. The Commission on Presidential Debates announced that during the final presidential debate tomorrow, President Trump and Joe Biden will have their microphones muted for two minutes at the start of each segment so the opposing candidate can speak without interruptions.
2.The U.S. tops 8.2 million Coronavirus cases w/ over 221,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 27 additional cases on Tuesday. The statewide death toll is 146 w/ 637 active cases.
3. In one of the biggest outbreaks in Maine yet, 42 coronavirus cases across Waldo County have been linked to Brooks Pentecostal Church in rural Maine. The ages of the people infected range from 2 years of age to 80. According to Dr. Shah the number of cases could increase significantly over the coming days.
4. The City of Portland is finalizing plans to provide more shelter space this winter for people who are experiencing homelessness. The plan includes using the Community Corrections Center, known as Joyce House and a hotel.
5. Just over 26 percent of Maine’s 1.06 million registered voters have already turned in their absentee ballots for the Nov. 3 election. The total number of returned and accepted ballots has already eclipsed the number accepted during the entire cycle of the last presidential election in 2016.
