1. The Supreme Court says the Trump administration can’t abolish DACA, which protects immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. Late last year, it had seemed that the Court’s conservative majority was ready to allow the Trump administration to abolish DACA. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals shields people brought to the U.S. as children from deportation and allows them to work. (CNN)
2. The U.S. Coronavirus cases top 2.1 million. America’s death toll stands more than 118,000. Maine reported 42 additional coronavirus cases on Thursday, the highest daily total in a week, but there were no new deaths and the daily average is still trending downward. (PRESS HERALD)
3. States that have reopened their economies ahead of Maine are starting to see record numbers of new cases. Florida, for example, recorded 3,207 new cases Thursday, a record single-day total. President Trump is scheduled to host a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma – his first in months – in a state that also has seen single-day records this week. (PRESS HERALD)

5. The Portland Sea Dogs will turn their ballpark into Hadlock Links Golf Club from July 9-12. Hadlock will be set up for a nine-hole “target golf” course. Golfers will get two shots at each hole. Tee times can be made and “greens fee” ($30) paid online at www.seadogs.com. Social distancing will be enforced, with only one golfer allowed at a tee box (groups of golfers are asked to make consecutive tee times). (PRESS HERALD)
